HÄGGLUND BV206 - Special Builds

With so many uses to which these remarkable vehicles can be put it is difficult to list all of them in a short space or time.

A special build BV206 is when we re-model a machine for a particular role as required by a customer.

Over the years we have catered to almost every conceivable modification of these vehicles to suit a particular role in civilian life including:

  • Ambulances
• Fire Engines
• Personal Executive ATV Transport
• Fuel Tankers
• Lube Trucks
• Drilling Platforms
• Wood Chipper's
• Civilian Defense Units (Police)
• Service Trucks
• Arctic Expeditionary Vehicles
• Ski-Resort Transportation

Because of the BV's ability to cross terrain without tearing up the grass, they are very popular with companies where there is a requirement to gain access to areas for the purpose of drilling (as in the example opposite) exploratory holes for seismic exploration or for carrying equipment necessary for reparatory work on power pylons or wind turbines etc.

Customers have also requested machines to permit the transportation of fuel or water over poor terrain and thus the BV206 tankers are a popular build for us.

Usually when customer's order tankers, they generally also have a requirement for a maintenance unit where we outfit the rear cargo bed of a BV206 with the essential items necessary for servicing vehicles in the field.

As well as re-engining the BV206's with the NEW Ford Turbo Diesel Unit (see NEW Turbo Diesel) we have also been asked for a pickup style front unit and as a result we have had new upper bodies constructed especially for the soft top versions we have in stock.

These units can thus carry a 2,500kg cargo on the flatbed as well as having extra storage in and on the rear section of the pickup cab.
