Flood and Snow support ....

2019 saw some of the worst flooding in years with many villages and homes cut off by waters from overflowing rivers or where simple volume accumulation has overwhelmed the drain infrastructure leading to massive build ups of water. 

This time it was caused by unprecedented rainfall but it could also have been as a secondary result of heavy snow fall and melting and run off of subsequent volumes of water. This is by no means a recent event, it has been happening for years and is unlikely to get any better.

Councils and emergency services are always under extreme pressure at the time of these events and do as much as finances permit to rectify identifiable areas which can be improved to prevent recurrences. 

What in most cases this leaves gaps in financing is for the provision of services to be employed at the time of the events i.e. tackle the distribution of manpower and equipment as well as the recovery of persons affected by the flooding.

The Hagglunds BV206 is probably the only vehicle which is suited to a multitude of rolls in which flooding and snow play a major part.

Snow

The Hagglunds BV206 can operate in arctic conditions so is well suited to those periods of the year and those areas when heavy snow is forecast or unexpectedly arrives. 

Flooding

Because the machine is essentially made from plastic it is designed to be buoyant in water, in other words it floats.

With propulsion provided by the tracks, the BV206 can handle most flood situations the only senario we don't recommend is attempting to cross fast flowing waters.

With a dramatic reduction in the number of available Mercedes Powered Diesel BV's coming out of military hands we took the step of working closely with Ford in the development of a replacement engine which could be used in place of the V6 Petrol powerplant thereby providing us with a supply of Diesel Engined machines to rival if not better the older Mercedes Powered units.

This NEW ford Diesel Engine was selected specifically for the role of replacing the Petrol Engine due to it's simple design and lack of complicated electrical components which could be susceptible to the influence of water ingress when the vehicle us being used in it's amphibious capacity.

New Diesel Engine

The engine went through a substantial program of testing to ensure serviceability and longevity with the vehicle being subjected to the task of carrying heavy loads for long periods.

This tested both the engine and the gearbox to their limits and both performed satisfactorily.
